[Vogue A-Z Trend Guide Link]

I had a look at Vogue's A-Z Guide of the Trends for the season Autumn/Winter 12/13. This gave me the most inspiration for my final chosen trend. When looking through the Season Guide and looking through the different designers collections, I was finding a huge lack of inspiration. There were trends that I liked, however nothing that shouted out to me and ignited that enthusiasm. Feeling a little deflated I went to look at other guide's and collections to see whether I could find the inspiration I needed. Looking through the A-Z guide I found all the inspiration I was looking for.

B is for Brocade

J is for Jewellery in Unexpected Places

R is for Rich and Regal

I fell in love with the jewel encrusted pieces within the different collections. I was inspired by the embroidery, applique and jewels. The look of affluence and riches inspired me to Jewels, Applique and Brocade as my chosen trend.
However I also loved the pleating work and layers that most designers had within their collections, the structure and the draping of the clothing was inspirational.
Combining the two, in my mind would create an amazing trend that would represent affluence and riches.

And so was the beginning of my super trend...

Regal Oppulence.

Giorgio Armani

These images are of the window display of the Giorgio Armani flagship store in Knightsbridge, London.
In order to find out more about the brand and its products, pricing, store layout and so forth, I visited the store to ask the employees some questions in relation to the brief I had been given.

The window display is a clear reflection of what was seen at Milan Fashion Week. Giorgio Armani models "had something of a seductive gangster and a Bugsy Malone edge about them with jaunty wide-brimmed hats perched at an angle" (Jessica Bumpus, 27/02/2012, http://www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/autumn-winter-2012/ready-to-wear/giorgio-armani)

Tailoring for Communication

The last project of my second year at university is linked to the pathway I have chosen to follow in my third year.

'Fashion Communication'.

The Brief:

As communication students you will be asked to forecast key tailoring trends for AW2012/2013, and document this through a series of illustrations, design work, photography and core research. You must endeavour to create a visual package pitched at the brand Giorgio Armani (http://www.armani.com/us/giorgioarmani) and design your own tailored capsule collection for either Womenswear or Menswear. You will also create the brand identity for your collection.
